UEFA rejects Serbia, Albania appeals following drone incidents
NYON, Switzerland -- UEFA has rejected appeal
s by Serbia and Albania after their European Championship qualifying match was abandoned when a drone flew over the stadium.
UEFA's appeals body on Tuesday upheld the original disciplinary sanctions: Albania forfeited the match for refusing to play on, and Serbia were deducted the three points from a 3-0 win by default.
Sanctions can be challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and the Albania football federation pledged to continue its legal fight.

Gianni De Biasi Interview
Posted on 9:13 AM by Unknown
I read several times in the Italian media that you always speak very well for Albania ...
We say that often in Italy Albanian people is associated with several criminals who perpetrate crimes in our country. I often say that we were Italian mafia called spaghetti pizza and mandolin, when we were forced to leave, but not felt the same as those people who commit crimes. I can see the turning to the south of the country, humble people who djersisin daily bread, but to work hard and dignity.
I like people who do not take the "shortcut" to earn easy money, but the chasing work daily with fatigue and honestly.

Interview with Bekim Balaj
It appears that the transition team in Rijeka has been the correct move for Bekim Balaj. Shkodran striker who during the summer transfer window in January moved Croatia is enjoying an excellent form since has managed to score 3 goals in as many matches played. Still not fully Inured but 24-year-old is happy, especially with the ambitious project of the club, it was also one of the main reasons he joined the team in friendly coach .Official cake but also to match valid for the Cup of Croatia, Albanian has a task, do the forgotten scorer of Rijeka but Andrej Kramaric league with 21 goals in 18 games. Armenia facing the player sees and feels quite hard pressure 3 points but promises the best in Croatia in order to be in formation of March 29, the day when the meeting will be played. "Hero" of Belgrade has yet to fresh events of 24 October so he has a great desire to develop the return match in Shkodra, his home, where dreams bless blessing hopes of millions of Albanians!
Bala why did you choose Rijeka?
I chose because of Rijeka team was one of the best options that had until that moment. Coach leaders headed GEM adamantly sought to become part of the team, then the removal of Kramaric created a gap in the team that somehow ensure that I would be part of the formation, although nothing is certain. Then here have a very ambitious project which convinced me even more.
Are you still with the team Inured?
Normally that adaptation requires his time but I had the opportunity I develop team preparation phase and friendly matches so I'm almost to the beginning of the League. Still I'm not 100% synchronized with the team playing with time everything will be easier.
3 goals in 3 matches prove otherwise?
Yes it is true I managed to find the network path at all meetings that I played. I wrote Ludogoretsit and friendly but optin NK Cup goal against Zagrepit locomotive was of greater importance and different because it was the first goal with team officials Rijeka.
How is the atmosphere of the club?
The atmosphere is very good because there prevails a serene environment which is due to the good results that have been recently, the second in the league, successful representation in the Europa League and the passage of the tour with 99% in the cup have create a harmony at the club and our fans. This is a very good condition after giving the opportunity to work more willingly.
Do you feel the pressure as you need to replace a striker as Kramaric?
The pressure is always high for the striker after the game point of reference for the team, expect him note of goals that later translates into wins and points in the classification table. For me it is higher because all eyes are directed to me as buying the newest and most filling the seat left special by Kramaric, top scorer in the Croatian Championship which by which I understand has left a name really good here. I will do my best, to do my best and the goals will come as have done so far.
Talk about National Team, as predict the match with Armenia?
The match with Armenia is a very difficult match because at this level that we are no longer any easy match. For our positions in this classification table 90 minute is crucial, and what makes it even more difficult is the pressure and the need to get three points that will help us immensely in our way towards qualification.
Do you think that you'll holder in that match?
I can not say anything as we share more than a month from this match. That which remains in me to do is to maintain optimal form, maximally concentrate to Rijeka in order to play regularly and do our best in this match. Then there is the De Biazi who decides everything!
If you were to place prepared De Biazit will play in attack or defense?
I can not give an accurate opinion about this but I am sure that tranjeri will prepare in the best way possible and choose appropriate strategies to prevail. We have to play very carefully taking into account the quality of offensive players that Armenia has players who play in the prestigious clubs of Europe and can punish every moment as it Mkhitarian Dortmund but the greatest strength of this team lies in group, just as our national team. We must do what we've done the last games and I believe that we will achieve a positive result.
Which of the attackers or understanding better on the field?
To be honest in all the games I played , the team has been the only one attacker before, being only attack can not say with who understood better. Perhaps in future matches could play with two strikers but depends on the opponent and the situation in which we can but we are each representative attacker has a very high level and not had a problem suitability in the field.
A changing game of Bala at the National comparing it to the team of Rijeka?
Of course that varies as Rijeka is the second country team and the Croatian league dominance in every match victory required, so develop a more offensive game and the National Team in many matches we play against opponents with a higher level and are forced to defend well and prove through counterattacks.
Before you move in Croatia did you communicate with Cikalleshin?
With Cikalleshin I communicated taking his opinion on Croatian championship know him long since we played together in the National ages. Also De Biazi with Tramezanin have wished for transfer to Rijeka. For tranjerin is important for players to play as much as to be in better shape for the national team matches.
Match with Serbia or would like to Shkodra?
From national team matches in Shkodra have beautiful memories, I remember those matches as fans in the stadium stairs. Familys lives with football and one thing is sure that support for National Team will be fierce. Hope to play in "Loro Borici" and brings us luck in that match "Shkodra locja"!

Albania friendly match with Bulgaria
Posted on 2:34 PM by Unknown
Albanian national team is expected to play a friendly match with Bulgaria in June (dates still to be confirmed). As was sfumua possibility of a test match in March, because the coach Gianni De Biazi not want to burden players before meeting qualifying very important to Armenia, the AFF have initiated contacts with other federations for a free dates UEFA -s. Sources of "Panorama Sports" in Albanian football institution indicate that many are likely to be officially confirmed friendliest Bulgaria in June. In the coming days is expected to have a concrete answer, as he learned that the Bulgarian federation agrees in principle. Bulgarian coach Ivaylo Petev, a former Lovech midfielder and former teammate with Alban Bushi and Altin Haxhin 2000.
Albania’s women's national football team began their preliminary qualifying campaign for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ as an unknown quantity, but they ended it having written their names in the history books. With two wins and a draw, the country from southeast Europe managed to reach the UEFA qualifying competition group stage – a truly remarkable achievement, especially considering it had only played its first women’s international as recently as May 2011.
Now as they prepare to test their mettle against some of the biggest names in international football, FIFA.com caught up with the man largely responsible for this progress: Altin Rraklli, ex-Hertha BSC, SC Freiburg and SpVgg Unterhaching player, former Albanian international and, since 2011, the women’s national team coach.
“I’m delighted with how well things have gone, especially if you consider how young this team is,” he said in an exclusive interview. “We’ve extracted the maximum from what we have. And it’s not just me that deserves credit.
“The Albanian football federation has done great work to support women’s football. The federation president, for example, has really helped us a lot, and FIFA and UEFA have also introduced coaching courses that we have made use of. There is a whole group of people who have played their part in our achieving these impressive results,” Rraklli continued, referring to a superb run of form that culminated in their reaching the qualification stage for the Women's World Cup.
Every game a great experienceAlbania are competing with Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Greece for a place at the 2015 showpiece event, but even though the Group 5 opposition appears daunting, Rraklli and his team are simply embracing each game. “Every team in our group is a big name, the best of the best. The only one missing is Germany,” said the 43-year-old with a grin.
“It’s a really great experience for us to be here. We’ll learn from every match, regardless of whether we win, how many goals we concede, if we lose or even lose heavily. Obviously we’ll try to improve and develop with every game, and strengthen the team with new players. And if we’re not bottom of the table at the end of it, that would be fantastic!”
In fact, Albania have actually come a step closer to reaching that modest target. On 30 October, Rraklli’s charges celebrated their first win of the group stage, beating Greece 1-0 in the Niko Dovana Stadium.
“We’re moving in the right direction but there’s a lot to do still. We still have a few games ahead of us, and our last match is away to Greece, who are obviously our closest competitor. The other teams are very strong, and we’ll be lucky if we can get anything from them. But we’ll see what we can take from the Portugal match. Every game is a great experience for us.”
Making football compulsoryWomen’s football in Albania might be on the up at the moment, but it is a project still very much in its infancy. “It’s a completely new sport for the country,” says Rraklli. “It will take time, that’s for sure. In Germany, women have been playing for 40 years. Success doesn’t just happen overnight.”
A women’s football league championship has been contested in Albania for four years now, with eight teams currently competing, and Rraklli has had as important role as anybody in its establishment. In 2008 he founded the women’s football club Tirana AS, leading them to the championship title the following year.
The 63-time Albanian international shows no sign of slowing down in his efforts to promote the women’s game in his homeland. “I’ve held discussions with the powers that be at the Albanian FA and with the government’s Ministry for Sport about the possibility of having one hour of compulsory football per day introduced in girls’ schools. That would give women’s football an even bigger boost.”
As a leading man in Albanian football, Rraklli is often asked where his passion for driving the women’s game comes from. It’s a question for which he has a ready-made response: “The word ‘football’ doesn’t make a distinction between men and women. Football is a game with 22 players and one ball, and it’s the same for men and women.”

Albania shock Portugal
Posted on 10:38 AM by Unknown
Gibraltar's first-ever senior competitive game ended in a 7-0 thumping by Poland in their opening UEFA EURO 2016 Group D qualifying match.
Robert Lewandowski scored four, Kamil Grosicki fired two and Lukas Szukala also got onto the scoresheet in a predictably one-sided match at Estadio Do Algarve. Gibraltar, UEFA's newest member and a country with a population of around 30,000, were accepted by the European governing body in May 2013 following a 14-year battle.
Aiden McGeady fired the Republic of Ireland to a priceless 2-1 victory in Georgia in the same group as he chose the perfect moment to produce his best form in manager Martin O'Neill's first competitive game. The Everton winger had given the Republic a 24th-minute lead with the fourth goal of his senior international career on his 70th appearance, but the advantage was short-lived as Tornike Okriashvili levelled with 14 minutes with a superb strike. But just as it looked as though O'Neill would have to settled for a point, McGeady curled home a 90th-minute winner to give his side the start to the campaign they craved.
In the other game in that Group, two goals from Thomas Muller gave FIFA World Cup™ championsGe rmany a less-than-convincing 2-1 win over Scotland. Muller headed the opener for the home side after 18 minutes of a one-sided first half in which the visitors found themselves constantly on the back foot.
It was a much-improved Scotland side, however, who emerged for the second half and Ikechi Anya levelled in the 66th minute following a swift break. Muller swiftly restored the home side's lead after a mix-up in the Scotland penalty area but Gordon Strachan's men finished strongly and on another night might just have sneaked a point, although Charlie Mulgrew was sent off in injury time for a second bookable offence.
Irish joy was not just restricted to the Republic and Northern Ireland could celebrate too as Kyle Lafferty and Niall McGinn got the goals as they marked the ninth anniversary of their famous victory over England by grabbing a dramatic 2-1 win in their Group F opener in Hungary. The date will always be a special day for Northern Ireland and ever more so after Lafferty bundled home the scrappiest, most ecstatic finish of his career to give his side a first away success in four long years.
Hungary had looked set to take the points on their first outing at the new Groupama Arena when former Watford striker Tamas Priskin headed home a 74th-minute corner but two goals in the last ten minutes for the visitors ripped up the script.
Also in that group, Ciprian Marica scored a tenth-minute penalty and was then sent off as Romania won 1-0 in Greece.
Albania stun Portugal, Denmark edge ArmeniaDenmark were spared another home embarrassment at the hands of Armenia as goals from Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Thomas Kahlenberg secured the Scandinavians a come-from-behind 2-1 win in Group I.
Playing a nation who had pulled off a famous 4-0 victory over them at Parken during World Cup qualifying in 2013, the Danes looked set to be humbled by the Armenians in Copenhagen once again when Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan's strike put the away side 1-0 up in the 50th minute. However, Hojbjerg levelled 15 minutes later with a long-range effort, and with ten minutes of the contest to go substitute Kahlenberg headed home the winner.
There was a shock in that group, though, as minnows Albania beat a Portugal side without Cristiano Ronaldo 1-0. Portugal have never been the strongest qualifiers but this was a real shock, with Bekim Balaj scoring the goal.
In Group F, Rosenborg striker Riku Riski rescued Finland from an embarrassing situation against theFaroe Islands. Finland trailed to a Christian Holst goal and were in danger of becoming the Faroes' first major scalp since June 2011.
But Riski scored a brace to spin the tie around and then Roman Eremenko added a late third for good measure in a 3-1 win.

Albania national football team
Posted on 8:40 AM by Unknown
The Albania national football team is the national association football team of Albania and it has represented the Albanian nation since 1932.
Although it never played any matches, the Albanian national football team existed before FSHF was created. This is witnessed by the registration of the team in the Balkan Cup tournament of 1929-1931, which started in 1929 (although Albania eventually retired from the competition, before the competition started). FSHF was founded on June 6, 1930, and Albania had to wait 16 years to play its first international match, debuting against Yugoslavia in 1946. In 1932, Albania joined FIFA (during the congress June 12 — June 16) and in 1954, it was one of the founding members of UEFA.
Recent developments
In December 2007, Football Association of Albania's president, Armand Duka, announced Arie Haan would replace Croatian-Austrian Otto Barić as Albania's head coach. Haan signed a two-year contract on January 4, 2008.
On March 14, 2008, Albania was suspended from international football (FIFA and UEFA), due to heavy political interference in the Football Association. The suspension lasted 46 days.
Haan was replaced by Croatian coach Josip Kuže in May 2009. Kuže parted ways with Albania almost three years later, in December 2011, when coach Gianni de Biasi replaced him.
The Albania national team has recently had an unprecedented high number of players, who although are Albanian by ethnicity, were not born in Albania, but either in Kosovo, or outside of Kosovo, while hailing from Albanian Kosovar parents. As of August 13, 2013, 14 Albanians of Kosovo origin were either part of the start-up team, or have received recent call-ups.
Significant presence at the 2014 FIFA World Cup
Before the World Cup in 2014 a significant presence of Albanians had been noted in several national teams. In March 5, 2014 54 Albanians were called up by 7 different national teams Albania (19), Kosovo (22), Switzerland(5), Macedonia (4), Finland (2), Germany (1), and Montenegro (1).
The Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo reported a significant presence of Albanians in the World Cup, thanks to an article published by it. The article emphasized how Albania is not in the World Cup 2014, as a result of the "originating stars who are springing up in major competitions on the globe", especially emphasizing Xherdan Shaqiri. According to the newspaper if Gianni De Biasi had been able to use Swiss representative footballers and Adnan Januzaj of Belgium, at the 1/8 finals against Argentina would not be Switzerland, but the Red & Blacks of Albania. According to the article, a country with three million inhabitants, which had never previously participated in a major tournament, could have been present in the Brazilian World Cup if the stars of Albanian origin had chosen to wear the jersey of their own country. The article noted that Xherdan Shaqiri, currently the star of the Swiss youth was too ambitious to play for the Albania in the past, and holds two passports, the Swiss and Albanian. Born in Gjilan, Kosovo, in the end he decided to wear the shirt of Switzerland, the country where he trained as a footballer. The second name that could have done the job for De Biasi, according to Catalan daily, was Adnan Januzaj of Belgium, which the label as a great talent. For the latter, "El Mundo Deportivo" writes that he was born in Brussels but emphasizes the origins of his father, who is an Albanian from Kosovo. The article also mentions how the two brothers Xhaka are split: The younger one, Granit, plays for Switzerland and the elder one, Taulant, for Albania, whereas the Macedonian Albanians such asBlerim Dzemaili, Admir Mehmedi and Valon Behrami, according to "El Mundo Deportivo" would make the team of Albania one of the most talented in Europe.
In September 2014, it was reported that 80 Albanians played with foreign (thus excluding Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia) senior and youth national teams, out of which 46 with Switzerland only.

Albania buoyed by dream start
Posted on 12:08 PM by Unknown
The UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying campaign was not even a day old when it produced its first major shock. On Sunday evening, Bekim Balaj struck a spectacular volley on the turn to secure a surprise 1-0 away win for Albania against the hotly fancied Portuguese in Aveiro. By defeating the 2004 runners-up at their sixth attempt, the Kuqezijte suggested they are finally step out of the shadow of Europe’s biggest teams.
“This evening marked a historic victory against a major European team,” Albania captain Lorik Cana proudly told the assembled journalists after the final whistle. “I’m very happy and excited for my country and my compatriots. They all look up to us as the national side, so this success is for them,” the 31-year-old concluded, his thoughts focused on a homeland in which fans celebrated long into the night.
Excitement and enthusiasm
The experienced Cana is already looking ahead to the future with immense anticipation. For Albanian football’s new generation, Sunday’s defeat of a Portuguese side bereft of FIFA Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo could be just the start of a remarkable chapter in their history. “It was a dream start for us, but we’re in a tough group with other top teams like Denmark, Armenia and Serbia,” the Lazio midfielder said. “Thanks to tonight’s win, we now have a chance to fight to the very end. We’ve got a lot of young players and want to keep going at this level.”
Goalscorer Balaj is also confident that Albania can cause a stir en route to the continental showdown in France in two years’ time. “Nobody expected us to win in Portugal,” said the 23-year-old Slavia Prague striker. “We came here to do our best, and I think we did a fantastic job as a team. Now we’re full of hope that we can play like we did today in each of our qualifying matches.”
Lofty ambitions
Currently ranked 70th in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, coach Giovanni de Biasi’s young charges have one clear aim: to compete at their first major international tournament by reaching the finals of the newly expanded 24-team European Championship. The Kuqezijte previously made a name for themselves with 1-0 wins against Slovenia and away to Norway in the preliminary competition for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™, and it appears their Italian coach has set them on the right track.
“It’s wonderful,” said a delighted De Biasi on Sunday evening. “It’s certainly good to beat an opponent ranked 11th in the world,” he concluded, clearly hungry for more of the same when they resume their qualifying campaign next month.
Samsung Galaxy S III
Posted on 8:00 AM by Unknown
The Samsung Galaxy S III is a multi-touch, slate-format smartphone designed, developed, and marketed by Samsung Electronics that runs the Android operating system. It has additional software features, expanded hardware, and a redesigned physique from its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S II. The S III employs an intelligent personal assistant(S Voice), eye-tracking ability, increased storage, and although a wireless charging option was announced, it never came to fruition. Depending on country, the 4.8-inch (120 mm) smartphone comes with different processors and RAMcapacity, and 4G LTE support.[13] The device was launched with Android 4.0.4 "Ice Cream Sandwich", was updated toAndroid 4.3 "Jelly Bean", and can be updated to Android 4.4 "KitKat" on variants with 2GB of RAM. The phone's successor, the Samsung Galaxy S4, was announced on 14 March 2013 and was released the following month.
Following an 18-month development phase, Samsung unveiled the S III on 3 May 2012.[14] The device was released in 28 European and Middle Eastern countries on 29 May 2012, before being progressively released in other major markets in June 2012. Prior to release, 9 million pre-orders were placed by more than 100 carriers globally.[15] The S III was released by approximately 300 carriers in nearly 150 countries at the end of July 2012.[4] More than 20 million units of the S III were sold within the first 100 days of release.[16] Samsung has since sold more than 50 million units.[5]
Due to overwhelming demand and a manufacturing problem with the blue version of the phone,[17] there was an extensive shortage of the S III, especially in the United States. Nevertheless, the S III was well-received commercially and critically, with some technology commentators touting it as the "iPhone killer". In September 2012, TechRadar ranked it as the No. 1 handset in its constantly updated list of the 20 best mobile phones,[18] while Stuff magazine likewise ranked it at No. 1 in its list of 10 best smartphones in May 2012.[19] The handset also won the "European Mobile Phone of 2012–13" award from the European Imaging and Sound Association,[20] as well as T3 magazine's "Phone of the Year" award for 2012.[21] It played a major role in boosting Samsung's record operating profit during the second quarter of 2012.[22] As of November 2012, the Galaxy S III is part of a high-profile lawsuit between Samsung and Apple.[23] In November 2012, research firm Strategy Analytics announced that the Galaxy S III had overtaken the Apple iPhone 4S to become the world's best-selling smartphone model in Q3 2012.
